Process improvement as a goal: Do I need to be audited for ISO 9001?

Armour is a tool designed for process improvement. It can be used by big companies and small companies to manage their processes and plan for continuous improvement aka continually getting better. By itself, it excels at this goal and allows your staff to focus on only the processes relevant for business success and productivity.

If you want to receive certification third party certification, then yes, you need to be audited by a third party provider. An external auditor will come fresh to an organisation and won't have assumed knowledge and will be able to point out obvious mistakes. It's worth going through the full process to get the full benefit of it, more on that in our next blog.

But at the same time, Armour means you can assemble all the documents and evidence you need for certification and warns you if anything is missing. You'd be going into that audit confident of passing the audit and having implemented a bespoke management system that works for you. But what about using Armour for process improvement and not for the audit. Of course, Armour works as a standalone iterative quality management system.

As Armour improves the process of evidence gathering itself, it means your systems reps (the staff responsible for quality management) will be able to work faster and more efficiently. It can reduce the personnel need for quality management significantly and removes the risk of siloed knowledge within a company.

As a bank stores the money for your business allowing for easy access and transfer, so Armour stores the knowledge and processes for your business. A single source point for all your management system documentation, eliminated duplicating and enhancing collaboration.

Because every part of business is a risk and any piece of work is an investment of money and time, it makes sense to do it right.
